ABOUT US

The South Shore Community Partnership, a charity founded in 2017 by Brian and Karen, aims to tackle issues regarding the ever-increasing cases of social isolation in Blackpool. The Hub at South Shore, a community facility, was created by the charity and serves over 2000 local residents monthly, offering educational classes and social activities to foster connection and empowerment.

The facility is politically neutral and collaborates with Blackpool Council and other funders to support the community. It focuses on those at risk of social isolation, especially the elderly, through activities like a very popular Lunch Club, Craft Group, Card making and Social Games, providing a warm and inclusive environment.

Volunteers and community leaders work tirelessly to make a tangible impact, offering classes and group events to combat loneliness and support all ages of people. Over the past nine years, 94% of users reported improved health and well-being, and 88% made new friends.

The South Shore Community Partnership is constantly evolving and expanding to meet the needs of its users and the local community are committed to creating lasting change for people of all ages in Blackpool.
